As the season changes to winter to unveil short, dark days and colder months in some parts of the world, other parts have colder temperatures but are still busking in the autumn sun. Here are five winter 2019 trends to embrace winter wherever you are in the world!
PRINTS
Dig out your favourite printed dress/ skirts/ jackets or trousers and pair them with neutrals for a balanced seasonal look. Prints that are in this season are dark checks, monochrome stripes, polka dots and animal prints. You can also use your spring printed clothes and layer them up with darker pieces for a winter vibe.
LAYERED PIECES & COLOURS
Whether you are in a warmer or cold climate this season, layering is the epitome of a change of seasonal wardrobe. In a colder climate go all out with adding turtlenecks or high neck long sleeve tops under strapless dresses or even satin vest tops for a chic warm look. In warmer climates, the idea of adding more clothes may not be ideal however layering with light breathable fabrics such as a chiffon flowy top over a high neck top. Also wearing longer jumpers of midi skirts/dress and belting the look is a great way to convert your summer pieces for winter! You can also layer colours, whether they are complimentary or even monochromatic.
TEDDY COAT
Short darks days does not mean wearing darker clothes if you don't want to. A big trend that we think will last in the upcoming years is to pop an oversized neutral coloured teddy coat over anything. And for those in warmer climates, maybe opt for a teddy crop coat or bomber jacket.
ACCESSORISE
To complete a winter look, huddle up in cosy knit berets and beanies, oversized scarfs and over the knee boots. For warmer climates, add a winter touch to your outfits with cut out ankle boots which you can pair with print socks for a fun touch. Another big trend this season is adding anything made in boucle fabric for a chic touch, this can be a boucle baker boy hat or even a boucle handbag.
FINE KNITS
A great way to layer up without feeling too bulky no matter the climate. This season's trends include fine knit midi dress, crop jumpers and co-ord skirts and tops which are great for layering up or even wearing on their own with a light undertop for coverage.
